Getting Started with Esterel SCADE Suite

Esterel SCADE Suite Getting Started will guide your first steps through SCADE features with the help of a fully implemented model. You will learn the principles of the SCADE workflow and participate in workflow activities.

Chapter 1: Introduction

You will be discovering through this first chapter the SCADE environment and workflow, and become familiar with the SCADE workspace, while being introduced to SCADE project management basics (creating, opening, closing a SCADE workspace).

Chapter 2: Model Capture

At the initial stage of the workflow, you will learn how to use SCADE Editor to design models with graphical formalism, mixing data flow with control flow. To complete model capture, you will define the data structure of your model, made of data types and constants.

Additionally, you will discover how to specify model information for improving code traceability and readability, check out the functional hierarchy of the model or share operators between models through libraries.

Finally, from your SCADE model, you will generate specification reports based on the model’s design.

Chapter 3: Model Debugging

The second stage of the workflow can be described as a three-stage process. First, you will learn how to check model coherence (including syntactic and semantic checks and cycle detection) at any time.

Then you will use SCADE to run interactive simulation sessions to dynamically check the model, to read through the simulated code with the help of code highlights, and to play simulation scenarios.

Finally, you will discover how to formally verify the behavior of a model in its simulated environment.

Chapter 4: Code Generation

In this chapter, you will learn how the SCADE model you designed can be used to generate code automatically.
