Sukhoi SU-35

First Flight of the Sukhoi Su-35 Flanker-E multi-role fighter

The first prototype of the Sukhoi Su-35 Flanker-E multi-role fighter made its first flight on February 19, 2008. Flown by Sukhoi test pilot Sergey Bogdan from Zhukovsky airfield near Moscow, the Super Flanker's flight lasted 50 minutes. Two additional planes are currently being completed at the United Aircraft Corporation's plants in the Russian Far East, and on schedule to join the test flight, in anticipation for delivery of the first aircraft (designated Su-27SM2) to the Russian Air Force by 2010 and achieving initial operational capability a year later. A completely new electronics Flight Control System, developed by MNPK Avionica using SCADE Suite 5.1, is heavily contributing the performances of this advanced generation fighter.

Cessna Citation XLS+

First Flight of Cessna Citation XLS+, equipped with the PW545C engine, powered by SCADE Suite

The integration of the new Collins Pro Line 21 and Pratt & Whitney’s FADEC (full authority digital engine control) equipped engines went smoothly and we look forward to continuing this program on schedule.” said Cessna Citation XLS+ Program Manager Kevin Steinert. The PW545C is the latest in the PW500 family of engines . This engine is equipped with the latest generation full-authority digital engine control (FADEC) system, providing the aircraft with optimal performance and efficiency. The PW545C FADEC system, like in most of the latest P&W engines, is fully driven by SCADE Suite generated code. The flight, which lasted one hour and 30 minutes, was conducted at Rockwell Collins’ facility in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Type certification of the XLS+ is expected in the first quarter of 2008 and first deliveries are scheduled for mid-2008.

Embraer Phenom 100

FIRST PHENOM 100 EXECUTIVE JET PERFORMS MAIDEN FLIGHT

The Embraer Phenom 100, the new benchmark for the very light jet segment, flew today for the first time. Aircraft number 99801 was airborne at 10:55 a.m., when Capt. Antonio Bragança Silva called out "rotate" and pulled back the yoke. The two Pratt & Whitney Canada PW617F engines with 1,615 pounds of thrust each powering the Phenom 100 operated flawlessly during the entire flight. The Pratt & Whitney PW617F engine is driven by SCADE-generated code. This is a key milestone for Embraer and a very special and rewarding moment for the entire Embraer team. To see our new baby bird taking off is highly satisfying and I congratulate every Embraer employee for making this possible, remarked Frederico Fleury Curado,Embraer President and CEO. A full test program, including static and fatigue tests, will follow the maiden flight in order to obtain Brazil's National Civil Aviation Agency (ANAC) certification, which will be followed by FAA certification, prior to entering service in mid-2008. EASA certification will be completed in the first semester of 2009.

EC/AS 320 B3 landing ont top of Mount Everest

The first flight of the Cessna Citation Encore+ development aircraft, equipped with the PW535B engine, took place on February 2. The PW535B is the latest engine in the PW500 family. During the flight that lasted 1 hour and 25 minutes, Cessna flew to an altitude of 16,000 ft. and operability successfully met all expectations. Inclement weather prevented the crew from flying at higher altitudes. The Pratt &Whitney 535 engine is driven by SCADE-generated code.

EC/AS 320 B3 landing ont top of Mount Everest

On May 14th, 2005 at 7h08, a serial Ecureuil/AStar AS 350 B3 piloted by the EUROCOPTER X-test pilot Didier Delsalle, landed at 8,850 meters (29,035ft) on the top of the Mount Everest. The Automatic Pilot which equips this model is designed with SCADE.

A380 first lift-off

The first Airbus A380 to take to the air landed at Blagnac international airport on April 27th, 2005, at 14.23 local time after successfully completing a first flight that lasted three hours and 54 minutes. Most of the A380's onboard computers developed by Airbus and Airbus suppliers benefit from the SCADE technology.
