IEC 61508 Certification Kit for SCADE Suite KCG™

Esterel Technologies' IEC 61508 Certification Kit for SCADE Suite KCG contains tool certification documentation. This material demonstrates to certification authorities that KCG was developed by Esterel Technologies in compliance with IEC 61508 safety objectives of SIL 3. To take credit of the KCG development tool IEC 61508 certification by TÜV SÜD, simply refer to the Certification Kit in your Safety Management Plan (SMP) and Safety Case Report.

IEC 61508 Certification Kit Documents

The IEC 61508 Certification Kit for SCADE Suite KCG includes the following documents:

• Tool Qualification Plan (TQP): Describes the strategy for the qualification of KCG Code Generator and references other project plans
• Compliance Analysis to IEC 61508 Standard: Presents the analysis of KCG plans with respect to the IEC 61508 standard
• Scade Language Reference Manual: Contains the language requirements
• Tool Operational Requirements (TOR): Contains the KCG Tool Requirements
• Safety Case Report: Provides evidence that KCG is developed with the appropriate level of safety and identifies the Conditions of Use to be obeyed by KCG users for claiming the certification credits of the tool
• Software Configuration Index (SCI): Presents the configuration status of the tool
• Software Installation Procedure (SIP): Contains detailed instructions for installing KCG

Customers and their certification authorities can have access to KCG development certification data onsite at Esterel Technologies:

• Certification Data: All material for KCG software development is available for audit, including design and source code, verification cases and procedures, verification results, software configuration management and software quality assurance records

Certification Kit Management

The Certification Kit is complemented by Maintenance Reports monthly: reports are sent by Esterel Technologies Support and also available from our Support web site

Updates of the Certification Kit are provided to customers with maintenance service
