DO-178B Certification Kit for SCADE Display KCG™

Esterel Technologies' DO-178B Certification Kit for SCADE Display KCG contains tool qualification documentation. This material demonstrates to certification authorities that KCG was developed by Esterel Technologies in compliance with DO-178B Level A safety requirements using FAA 8110.49 Software Approval Guidelines.

To take credit of the KCG development tool certification, simply refer to the Certification Kit documents in your Tool Qualification Plan (TQP) and Tool Accomplishment Summary (TAS). In addition, the project Plan for Software Aspects of Certification (PSAC) needs to describe the intent to use KCG, and, similarly, the Software Accomplishment Summary (SAS) shall describe how the Certification Kit was used in the project.

DO-178B Certification Kit Documents

The Certification Kit includes the following documents:

• Tool Qualification Plan (TQP): Describes the strategy for the qualification of KCG Code Generator and references other project plans
• Compliance Analysis to DO-178B Standard: Presents the analysis of KCG plans with respect to the DO-178B standard
• Tool Operational Requirements (TOR): Contains the KCG Tool Requirements
• Interface Requirement Specifications (IRS): Describes the storage format for input files
• Graphic Libraries Interface Documents: Describe the graphic libraries interfaced with the KCG-generated code
• Tool Accomplishment Summary (TAS): Presents the compliance status with the Tool Qualification Plan, the conditions of use, the list of unresolved bugs, and tool limitations
• Software Configuration Index (SCI): Presents the configuration status of the tool
• Software Installation Procedure (SIP): Contains detailed instructions for installing KCG

Customers and their certification authorities can have access to KCG development certification data onsite at Esterel Technologies:

• Certification Data: All material for KCG software development is available for audit, including design and source code, verification cases and procedures, verification results, software configuration management and software quality assurance records

Certification Kit Management

The Certification Kit is complemented by Maintenance Reports monthly: reports are sent by Esterel Technologies Support and also available from our Support web site

Updates of the Certification Kit are provided to customers with maintenance service

• KCG 6.0.3 is qualifiable on Windows XP SP2
• KCG 6.0.3 is integrated to SCADE Display 6.1 or higher
