Esterel SCADE Display is a flexible graphics design and code generation tool suite for the development of safety-critical embedded display systems.

SCADE Display complies with the most stringent quality objectives. SCADE Display KCG, its code generator, is DO-178B qualified up to level A.

With a native support of the OpenGL SC standard, SCADE Display is the new generation display framework, spanning prototyping, display design, simulation, verification & validation, DO-178B certified code generation for level A software and smooth integration with other applications.

SCADE Display is tightly coupled with SCADE Suite® enabling unprecedented visibility from the deployed application to the end-user displays.

SCADE Display is deployed in production to create the latest generation aircraft displays, including cockpit display systems of the Airbus A380, A400M, the Sukhoi SuperJet 100, the Sikorsky S76, and on the Rafale program.

Integrated SCADE Suite

SCADE Display is fully integrated within the SCADE Certified Software Factory, enabling co-design, co-simulation, co-reporting and co-generation of DO-178B level A qualifiable code. All these capabilities are available at model level for the graphical and logical parts of safety-critical applications.

Together, SCADE Display and SCADE Suite represent the only fully integrated and DO-178B qualified design suite, spanning graphics, logic, algorithm design and automatic code generation.

Co-design

The SCADE Suite/SCADE Display tight integration is supported by a dedicated graphical interface allowing mapping the SCADE Suite design variables to the SCADE Display graphical specification plugs. One can seamlessly manage (add/remove/modify) the mapping information from this panel.

Bi-directionnal navigation between SCADE Suite and SCADE Display models is also enabled.

Co-simulation

The SCADE Suite/SCADE Display integration allows model-level co-simulation between a SCADE Suite design and a SCADE Display specification. This SCADE Suite/SCADE Display integrated simulation relies on the actual generated code that shall eventually be embedded (for both for SCADE Suite and SCADE Display), ensuring at the same time hi-fidelity of the behavior and good simulation performance rate.

Two co-simulation modes are available:

  • White-box co-simulation gives graphical access to all SCADE Suite diagrams and variables, while allowing at the same time analysing and debugging the graphical outputs on the SCADE Display panels.
  • Black-box co-simulation, where the SCADE Suite Simulator runs in batch mode, reading SCADE Suite scenarios as inputs, and outputting the computed values connected to plugs directly on the SCADE Display panel(s).

Co-reporting

The SCADE Suite/SCADE Display integration allows automatic co-generation of documentation from your SCADE Suite and SCADE Display models.

In the generated SCADE Suite reports, a dedicated section provides:

  • A SCADE Display Mappings table describing, for each variable, the name and type of the SCADE Suite variable as well as the name and type of the mapped SCADE Display plug.
  • Hyperlinks allowing to reach the corresponding plug description in the SCADE Display reports.

In the generated SCADE Display reports, a dedicated section provides:

  • A table containing the name and type of each plug, as well as all objects connected to this plug.
  • Hyperlinks allowing to reach the corresponding object(s) description in the SCADE Display report.

Co-generation

Finally, the SCADE Suite/SCADE Display tight integration supports the automatic generation of wrapping code between SCADE Suite generated-code and SCADE Display generated code, according to the mapping information at model level, thus minimizing the tedious task of rewriting and adapting this often changing part of the code between interfaces of both models.
