Optimizing Safety-Critical Software Development in Medical Devices

Webinar Sponsored by
Esterel Technologies and Wind River

Webinar Topic:

Although the formal classifications of medical devices differs between the U.S., Europe, Canada, and others, one thing is clear - current methodologies of software development for safety- or life-critical applications are still error prone, take too long, and are extremely expensive to develop, test, and deploy.

To alleviate these concerns forward thinking medical device manufacturers are moving to formal methodologies, tools, and certified platforms to ensure timely development and guaranteed product quality. With the introduction of the Drug and Device Accountability ACT of 2009, medical device manufacturers can no longer afford to use informal tools, methodologies, and late-in-the process testing.

In this Webcast, You Will Learn:

  • The value of formal model-based design, verification, and implementation.
  • Key market and business drivers in the medical industry highlighting the need for formal model-based development.
  • Recommended best practices from industry experts.
  • The value of safe-by-construction modeling, certified code generation, verification, and certified platforms.
  • How Esterel's Technologies SCADE Suite® and SCADE Display™ directly integrate with the Wind River COTS platform for CERT, saving the development team time and money by delivering high quality, more maintainable applications within the medical industry.
