Esterel Technologies and Tata Consultancy Services Partner for hardware customer IP development with Esterel Studio.

Esterel Technologies, a leading tool provider for control-intensive IP design, today announced a strategic agreement with Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading global technology services company to establish the first Center of Excellence for Esterel Studio IP design in India.

Esterel Studio is a leading front-end design and verification tool for control-intensive hardware IP. Esterel Studio executable specification exporter enables customers and suppliers to share a single dynamic reference. In addition, formal verification of assertions offers an efficient way to ensure key functional correctness properties. This unique combination provides essential comfort and reliability in the context of remote IP development.

TCS’ robust Global Network Delivery Model and the firm’s capabilities in the embedded software and EDA space coupled with the functionalities of Esterel Studio offer an excellent value proposition to customers. Customers will have the choice to buy off-the-shelf or fixed-cost specific IPs designed by TCS, thus providing an alternative to in-house design effort.

The TCS Center of Excellence based in Pune and Bangalore, India will design hardware IPs for Esterel Studio. The first team of TCS engineers, under the guidance of Esterel Technology consultants, has come up with its first three IP designs, a customizable synchronous bus arbiter, a high-speed digital IIR (Infinite Impulse Response) filter and a SPI (Serial Peripheral Interface) Master Core.

The reusable digital IPs find extensive applications in industry verticals like consumer electronics, automotive, industrial, networking, aerospace and the multimedia industry. The customers benefit from the reusability of these library components and also help in reducing time to market with custom, high performance, verified IPs created with Esterel Studio.
